Our Response to Covid-19

Updated as of July 20, 2021

As a result of the updated guidance on Covid-19, we have made a few changes to our guidelines. As usual, to prioritize the health of our staff and dearest customers, we ask those who show flu-like symptoms to stay home and you are welcome to enjoy the self service buffet when you are healthy! Every customer has the right to make their own choice on whether to get the vaccine and we request those who have not been vaccinated to wear a mask inside our establishment. Masks are optional for vaccinated customers.

To continue the self service buffet, we have modified guidelines that we ask everyone to follow:

  • Sanitize before and after each trip to the buffet and after touching high contact surfaces

  • It is recommended that you use the provided gloves or disposable napkins to handle serving utensils at the buffet

  • Face coverings are recommended while up at the buffet to protect yourself and others

  • Practice social distancing inside the restaurant especially between one another while in line

Thank you for understanding and thank you for supporting local businesses.

After implementing crucial safety procedures outlined by Governor Dewine and the Ohio Department of Health, we have decided to open back up for dine-in buffet. To prioritize the safety of our staff and dearest customers, we ask those who show flu-like symptoms to stay home and we will be happy to serve you when you’re well.

We have also implemented a few changes and adapted the following guidelines:

  • We have adjusted prices along with limited selection due to increased prices and limited availability of raw goods

  • We have removed the self service component to our buffets and ask that customers be served by our staff and servers

  • We ask customers to practice physical distancing while walking through the restaurant

  • Please attempt to protect yourself and others by wearing a facemask

  • Avoid high contact surfaces

To keep our customers safe, we are open for carry-out only. Customers can order online, by the phone or in person and pick up their order using our zero contact carry-out system. Customer are able to order off of the regular menu or off of the buffet.

As a disclaimer, some items have been discontinue during this time due to low demand and inability to source the raw goods. Customers can call in to order or call for any questions.

Why is China City Buffet not open for dine in buffet?

  • The Ohio Department of Health has requested that all buffets be serviced by staff while maintaining the mandatory six feet distance between parties. Although the requirements for opening the buffet may be met, it will GREATLY increase the chances of exposure to the coronavirus to our staff and customers. We will await further decisions and suggestions from The Ohio Department of Health and Governor DeWine and post updates on our website if our circumstances changes.
